On April 22-25, 2006, at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC, students from the Lake Drive Program at MLHS competed in The National Academic Bowl Championship. They earned their place in the nationals by winning the Mid-Atlantic Regionals of the Academic Bowl, March 30 - April 2 at VSDB (Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind). After 3 long days and 10 matches Mountain Lakes came out on top with a decisive win over John Hersey High School. Our team members are Janine B., Travis J., Eric H., Daniel D., and Ian L. All are juniors at Mountain Lakes High School. Our coaches are Diane Hewitt and Phyllis Rosenberg.
