Early Intervention Through High School
Our Philosophy
The Mental Health Team focuses its efforts on proactive intervention through
the provision of school-based services to students and their families.
|
|
| |
Our Goals
The Lake Drive School Mental Health Team seeks to enhance the student's
academic performance and socialization with peers by offering a variety of
school-based preventative programs and services. The student's communication
needs are a primary consideration when designing an intervention. In an
effort to encourage on-going contact with the sending districts, treating
physicians, and treating clinicians, the Mental Health team provides
consultation with regard to student progress.

Facts to Consider

|
The U.S. Attorney General estimates that one in five children and
adolescents will experience a significant mental health problem during
their school years.
|

|
Nationally, over the past 30 years, schools have become the largest
providers of mental health services to children. As a result, among
children who receive mental health services, up to 80% will get their
