Communication Development

Our Goal
The Communication Department at Lake Drive School has two central purposes:

To guide each child to develop effective communication skills.



 

To support the development of English language learning as the central tool for the development of literacy and to support academic achievement.


Our Program
Speech-Language Therapy/Auditory Training provided regularly for every student:

One therapist for every 10-12 students

Individual or small group instruction


Individual student needs met through planned intervention

 
 

Development of residual hearing

 

Oral-motor development

Receptive and expressive language development

 

Development of oral speech production


 

Facilitate phonological/phonemic awareness and development

 


 

Development of cognitive/linguistic processes
 


Social language Skills
