| On October 29, 2007, the students, families and staff of the Lake Drive School in Mountain Lakes, NJ held a walk-a-thon with the theme of “Building a Better Me”. Sporting buttons with the theme and lead on by a cheer created for the event, the students, whose smiles outshined the sunny day, walked, skipped and hopped along the Boulevard, the town’s main thoroughfare. |

The “Building a Better Me” theme stresses the importance of working together. Other planned activities for the school year include: a display of the posters created by the individual classrooms for the walk-a-thon; a presentation by Red Grammer, who is a singer/songwriter with positive messages weaved into his upbeat songs, and a "Random Acts of Kindness" week where students will be “caught” affirming all they have been hearing about. |
