The grant I received for the Weatherbug Program has been a wonderful addition to our 5th grade science curriculum as well as the entire school here at Wildwood.  Students learn about real-time weather data as our State-of-the-Art weather station measures current weather conditions and patterns in our local area as well as around the globe.  In addition, we have daily morning "Meteorologists of the Day" announce the current weather conditions and forecast during homeroom to the school.  On Fridays, from our "WW5 Weather Station," it's Musical Meteorology day where we play music related to weather (and sometimes even Mr. Walters sings) before our morning weather report.

The entire school can access the Weatherbug program from any classroom, and it also provides interactive lessons for grades 1-12 in subject areas such as science, math and geography. It is also a great way to integrate the Internet into the classroom instruction.  Overall, this interactive and hands-on program has truly engaged our students and makes learning about weather exciting and meaningful!
