Liaisons to the Foundation

Gail Boertzel - Board of Education

          

ROLE OF TRUSTEE/ BOARD MEMBER

The trustee/ board member reports to the President of the Foundation and the community. 

Tenure: Each board member will serve for a two-year term.

Function: The Board makes planning and policy decisions; becomes responsible for financing those decisions; 
monitors implementation; and promotes community understanding of and support for the Foundation.
 

Requirements:
-Support the mission.
-Attend all Foundation meetings and actively participate in decision making.
-Serve on at least one committee and attend all of its meetings.
-Share your particular area of expertise with the Foundation.
-Support and participate in fund raising activities.
-Be an advocate for the Foundation.
-Be willing to assume leadership positions and be a team player.

-Make a financial commitment to the Foundation appropriate to your circumstances. 

 

COMMITTEES

Database:  Develop database of Foundation supporters

Development:  Fundraising and development of corporate support, in an effort to broaden fundraising base.

Finance:  Responsible for all banking and management of funds raised by the Foundation. 

Fundraising Events:  Fall (Golf and Tennis Outing); Spring (Orient Express, Spring Fling, Casino Night, A Night of Hollywood Elegance); Summer: (Family Picnic).

Grant Committee:  Review grant applications, make decisions based on research.

Liaisons:  Promote public awareness of the Foundation.  Provide principals and local organizations with liaisons to facilitate 
communication between themselves and the Foundation.

Nominating Committee:  Seek new people to replace members going off the committee

Newsletter:  Communicate with the public on a regular basis to report progress and apprise community of Foundation efforts

Publicity:  Publicize Foundation activities, through various media including monthly update in the Home and School Bulletin

Web-site:  Maintain current website.
